My Dream. My Reality.

I don't know what's happening to me.

It was not until a month ago that I experienced a general change in my dreams.

For years I have dreamed of being chased around, be it by strange freakish creatures that threaten to bite my @$$ off (WTF???), gigantic animals (Mostly spiders and porcupines. I admit, I'm arachnophobic, but I actually think that porcupines are kinda cuddly...), or the people that I fear the most (a certain woman comes to mind). Yet now...

During the past month, in my dreams, I could only see myself trying to find my way through many winding paths, usually inside a very large building. This has happened... let's see, five times, perhaps? Last night, though, it was way over the top.

As usual, I (in the dream) started out in a random room of an also random building. This building was quite a grand one, with large halls and spiral staircases. Heck, even the Queen of England would willingly live in a palace(?) like that.

I walked for what seemed like ages until I finally ran into several girls, my juniors in college to be precise. Well, it so happened that the girl I currently have a crush on was in that group. *blush*

When I approached them, they were all like, "Hey, watcha doin' here, senpai? The test is about to start!" And I was all stuttery like, "Um... Er... Okay..."

The girls led me to a room located at the end of a corridor nearby. The room itself looked like a hall with a large whiteboard at one end, and wide windows (really wide, if you me to emphasize how wide it was) at another end. There were seats and tables, perfectly arranged for a written test. Most seats were occupied, mostly by the familiar faces of my friends. I took a seat at the very middle of the room, and when the lecturer told us to start, I started. And I started fast.

Before long, I was already done.

As I stood up to collect my work, I couldn't help but realize that I was the first one to finish. That's a record, I be tellin' ye.

I walked towards the lecturer's desk, put the test sheets on it, and briskly exited the room.

Well, at least I tried to.

Before I could reach the door, the lecturer said, "You're awfully quick today. Is the test that easy?"

I turned to give her a witty retort, but before I could do so much as open my mouth, a blinding light penetrated the room.

Somehow, out of reflex, I crouched low and shielded my face with my arms.

An ear-splitting crash filled my senses, threatening to shatter my ear-drums, followed with what seemed like an earthquake. It lasted for only a few seconds, and miraculously, I managed to stand my ground during the ordeal.

When I felt that it was safe enough, I lowered my arms and opened my eyes.

The first thing I realized was the excruciating pain on my arms. I looked at them and saw that small shards of glass have planted themselves on them, drawing blood. Suppressing the pain as best as I could, I looked around, trying to find the very thing that caused the crash before.

It was a very large plane, a Boeing class, I believe. It had crashed into the back of the room, shattering the window. However, it had come into a full stop right before it could crush the back row, saving my friends from the more fatal damage it could have caused. Still...

I looked around wildly, searching through the chaos in the hall for the very person I care about most.

And there she was, battered and bloody, with a large piece of shrapnel stuck in her midsection.

Ignoring my own maimed hand, I ran towards her, while crying out her name...

English Translation

If you could see, you’d notice me out in the unending wilderness…
Far away, far way, where I am longing for sleep

From your view down below the moon, you looked up into the Universe
Where I go, where I go
Truth is… Friendship is…

The flower of life, in all your youth and glory
Even if I should fall, you will have a future

Pouring out with all its light, an eternity of stars
No matter what, forever, I will always watch over you

Happy days and such, like falling sand,
slip through finger sized cracks
Far away, far away… just an illusion

Yet, we again set off walking down that endless road
For the sake of at least one person’s dream

Ah, until the day I can sleep, with all my heart and youth
I will stand until my power is exhausted

In the unending light of an eternity of stars
No matter what, forever, I will continue to shine

For the injured soldier, he is filled with the light of the stars
Bringing their song of love and peacefulness

If you could see, you’d notice me out in the unending wilderness…
Far away, far way, where I am longing for sleep
